The day Mrs Howard introduced Minue, Minue into our classroom.

About a month ago Mrs Howard came to school very excited.  She was going to introudce a new obstacle course.  We came to school like normal.  After morning tea we sat down on the mat.  We saw a video on the tv.  Mrs Howard un-paused the video.  There were some girls doing a dance in squares.  They were jumping front side, front, side, front.  2 days later we came to school and saw the grid on the floor.  Later we did the course.  There was music that went with.  The music that went with it went Minue, Minue.  Some of us were great at the course, some of us were not.  Those of us that were not good at the course had to practice lots.  After a long time most of us got the hang of it.  We showed our buddy class and Mrs Allen.  Our goal is to do it in Assembly.

A Puppet Show

WALT create and perform a puppet show.

Room 10/11 had a great opportunity to create and perform a puppet show from scratch! They had to write the script, make the stage and props such as a butterfly, a cocoon, a caterpillar and different types of foods. They practised for a few weeks and developed their acting and understanding of stage performance. Take a look at Eloise's group’s performance. (Please click the title above the picture)

The big, fat caterpillar

Setting description: The lake is like glass and the mountains are so beautiful. The sky is so blue and the sun is bright.

Narrator: Once upon a time a cute little egg lay on a leaf and out popped a cute little caterpillar.
Narrator: The little caterpillar started to look for some food.
Narrator: First she found an ice-cream. It was too sweet and she vomited.
Narrator: Then she found some candy and then she went so crazy!
Narrator: She found some veggies and then she ate them. She said “Finally I got something yummy!”
Narrator: Then she was so sleepy she found a tree to make a cocoon.
Narrator: She stayed in the cocoon for a few months.
Narrator: After a few months, she popped out of the cocoon and then she was a beautiful butterfly.
Narrator: She lived happily ever after.

Book Character Dress Up Day!

On Thursday 21 November, Room 10/11 had a fun day dressed up as their favourite book characters. There were princesses, witches, wizards, Hairy Maclary and many other characters from different books! It was great to see the love of reading and making a connection to those characters. Well done Room 10/11 for your amazing effort and costumes!
